It is a shame that I can only show you this photograph. The smells of the bush in Spring and Summer are excellent here in the mountains. Depending on whether the bush is a dry open woodland at the foot of the ranges, a tall wet eucalyptus mountain forest or a patch of remnant rainforest in a gully like seen the photo above ... it is all so different at this time of year.
I drove into town, the town is the Capital of Australia, the other day at midday, to photograph office workers during their lunch break. I wanted to photograph people in parks and I ended up driving back home after an hour because there was only a couple of people around. If I had done the same in Sydney, I would have seen 20,000 people having lunch within one city block.
There is a lot to be said for living in the World's least densely populated Capital city ... the rush hour lasts about 5 minutes. When I go to my local swimming pool, at midday during the week, I'm usually the only person there.
Daniel, Thankyou for your fine observation. I have enjoyed your comment greatly.
It is a shame that this landscape photo doesn't have two crutial missing elements ... the long sounds of the birds like the Currawongs and eucalyptus smells from the forests and those of the looming storm.
"I CAN'T HEAR YOU FROM THIS EUCALYPTUS TREE!" ... well I wish I could package up the different eucalyptus smells of the forests and send them to you.
Warren.
PS, thankyou for waiting for my reply Mate, I've been off racing boats.
Thankyou.

You're welcome.

Having originally come from a large city Sydney, living in the Australian Capital Territory is very pleasent.

You used to live in Sydney? Awesome! So is it calmer compared to Sydney, or what?

I like being a fringe dweller.
