HDR Along Meirs Street

The grime of the Big Smoke.

8 exposure HDR from RAW, shot at night under street lights at ISO400. The coloured HDR image was converted to black and white by desaturating the colour and then the image was colour changed, to give the purplish look of a selenium toned print.

When I converted the b/w image to the RBG Channels, I then reduced the brightness of the Red Channel while proportionally increasing the brightness of the Blue Channel before recombining the RGB channels. This adjustment was done by slight degrees.

The new pseudo selenium black and white tone was then tone adjusted in the blacks and deeper midtones to give the intensified blacks (while retaining white highlights) the appealing visual feature found in a traditional seleniun toned black and white paper print.
